Course Overview
This course explores revival and revitalization from a biblical and attainable perspective focusing on personal, spiritual, and communal renewal from the Holy Spirit to reignite the people of God to be the church militant to a needy world.
The process explored will begin at establishing the normalcy of spiritual health, diagnosing of spiritual apathy, the process of intercession and repairing of the altar, and the return to biblical and practical principles of prayer, confession, power, fire, empowerment, renewal, vitality, and restoration to change the world for Christ.

Intended Outcomes
Students will appreciate
- Appreciate the possibilities of grace and revival from a gracious personal God.
- Realize the heart of God that yearns for His bride to be at her best.
- Underscore that church health and growth are the norm and anything less is unacceptable.
- Become uncomfortable seeing any church in spiritual decline and disarray.
- Be motivated by biblical and historical methods/actions that have produced results.
Students will be able to
- Be able to map out a path of revitalization for a specific church in their purview.
- Be able to apply biblical and pastoral concepts to see dying churches restored.
- Be able to articulate a recipe for reformation that has been historically and biblically proven to improve the morale and attendance in any church that God can work through.
- Be able to teach others the desire and appreciation for personal revival from complacency.
Students will know
- Practiced and become seasoned in prayer for the reawakening of the church of Christ to arise and be at their best for God.
- Learned the key elements of diagnosing need, assessing quality, and prescribing a pathway for church health based on case studies, biblical references, and putting forth a possible path for revitalization based on the Bible, lectures, and textbook knowledge.
- Learned the basic concept and exercise of cooperation between God and man for the renewal of His Kingdom on earth visualized by the church by laying out specific steps to take for revitalization.
- Gained a basic familiarity with revival efforts and successes/failures in history to learn methods and avoid pitfalls in one’s own ministry by presenting the facts and demonstrating proper application.
- Gained an understanding of areas of concern in a church by identifying the need and enumerating possibilities to see a specific church return to vitality with an upward trajectory.
- Learned the fundamental elements of revival and being able to link those elements with a specific plan for practical steps to see a church’s return to their spiritual heyday.
